A little about me

I encountered Pilates in the 1980s whilst a student at the London School of Contemporary Dance, where Alan Herdman had established the first Pilates studio in the UK. Over some thirty years I danced professionally and was a dance educationalist and manager, notably with Rambert. I practised Pilates during my dance career, and when I considered moving on to train as a Pilates instructor I naturally turned to Alan, who had learnt the form from two former colleagues of Joseph Pilates. This was as close to the source as possible! I undertook Alan’s comprehensive teacher training course, graduating in 2020.

I continue my professional development with several master trainers. I am fully insured and hold a current first aid certificate.
